Bio
If you could close your eyes and imagine the perfect female country music singer for 2010 and beyond, what would she sound and look like?
Of course you would start with a rich and powerfully unique voice, unfamiliar yet stunning. She would need “spot on” pitch (seemingly unimportant in the recent marketplace). How about a vocalist so pure you can’t wait to hear her again and again? Don’t forget beauty. A true beauty that radiates from the inside out. Well open your eyes and meet…. Katie Rae Davis.
Without question, she was gifted with an unmistakably passionate and powerful voice that was first recognized and encouraged by a grade school teacher when she was just 7 years old. And with the help of her parents she performed almost every Saturday night, in east Texas Opry houses for 10 years. But it was on October 8, 2007 at the State Fair of Texas that the landmark “turning point” occurred. A one set performance (that was very nearly rained out) following the Jonas Brothers, was heard by veteran concert promoters Glenn and Linda Smith (Glenn Smith Presents Inc.). They were so impressed with what they heard and saw, that within a month offered her a management deal. Then on her first major support date in February of 2008, Billy Ray Cyrus experienced the “magic” of her voice asking her to “please come back up [on stage] and sing Miley’s parts during my show”. Later that year, her new producer Blake Chancey said of their first Nashville session, “Her first time in, produced a great demo which I have never experienced with any other artist I have recorded, including the Dixie Chicks!”
Now at the age of 19 and having graduated high school early, Katie Rae has lived in Nashville for a full year. She has written and co-written over 50 songs with some of the industry’s most notorious composers, recorded many with Blake, and is getting very serious interest from the top major labels. Katie Rae knows that with her God-given talent comes serious responsibility that includes hard work, respect to her peers and fans, and continued improvement and growth. Watch for her career to explode very soon, but meanwhile just sit back, listen, and enjoy…
